BTS 'Spring Day', Melon's first chart to surpass 100 million streams

According to Melon, a major music platform in Korea on the 13th, the title song of 'WINGS Overture: YOU NEVER WALK ALONE' released by BTS on February 13, 2017 surpassed 1 billion streams. "Spring Day" is the first song to exceed 1 billion views on Melon. Melon grants a 'Villiance Bronze Club' badge to artists who have achieved a cumulative total of 1 billion streams of music, and the BTS receives the badge with one song 'Spring Day'.
In addition, 'Spring Day' entered the Melon Daily Chart (as of August 12) for 2738 consecutive days. As of February this year, the song has set a milestone in the daily chart rankings without missing a single day for seven years. Since then, it has been steadily on the chart and has been in the rankings for more than 7 years and 6 months. This is also the longest chart in Melon history, and BTS is breaking its own new record every day.
"Spring Day" is an alternative hip-hop song that combines Brit-Rock sensibility and electronic sound. It deals with the message of not losing hope while waiting for a meeting with a distant friend. It has been called a masterpiece for more than seven years since its release, stimulating the emotions of many people with lyrical melodies and beautiful lyrics.
The album "WINGS: YOU NEVER WALK ALONE" containing "Spring Day" entered the U.S. Billboard main album chart at No. 61 on March 4, 2017 and then charted for two consecutive weeks. In addition, the song is constantly enjoying a steady popularity, winning a surprise No. 1 spot in the 「Daily Digital Single Ranking」 (December 12, 2023) released by Japan's Oricon last year.
