Onew "3rd mini album? My voice is the biggest advantage, and I melted what I want to do"

Onew recently met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, saying, "I was happy because there were many things I did for the first time while preparing for this album"I want to combine the things I learned little by little during SHINee's activities."."
Onew returned to Sinbo in about a year and a half since its first full-length album 'Circle' which was released in March 2023. "I'm so happy that there are so many things I've never done before while preparing for the album," he said. "There are not many things that artists can do themselves in a big company, and they focus on A&R work. But this time, the most memorable thing was that I personally recruited the writers and coordinated them together."
The 3rd mini album 'Flow' shows the charm of an artist who has grown further. If previous albums consisted of songs focused on Onew's voice and emotions, 'Flow' focused on songs that could be enjoyed with the public. He said, "This is my third solo album, and I've melted a lot of what I want to do" Usually, when you perform solo at an idol concert, don't you want to do something cool?" It's funny to think about it now, but during SHINee's concert, the opera stage was a little unique. As my voice is an advantage for me, I thought it would be good to approach the 3rd mini album in that direction. In addition, it seems that there were not many opportunities to meet and communicate with the public in person while working for a long time. I went on the festival stage alone for the first time to be more familiar to many people, and I felt so good when I received positive responses from the audience," he recalled.
He then shared how he felt while working on his third mini album. Onew said "My dream since I was a kid was to go to a contest like Yoo Jae-ha's song festival and act as a singer-songwriter. Then, I was lucky to debut as SHINee. Just because I was an artist with a big company, I didn't just work as a player, I did a lot of creative work. I wanted to learn such things little by little and do well with responsibility. I can't succeed in everything I do unconditionally, but I want to use failure as a stepping stone to find a better way." When asked about the reactions of the members who heard the new song, Onew said, "There are some friends who heard it beforehand while filming the title song challenge, and everyone said I looked excited."," he replied with a smile.
Meanwhile, Onew's 3rd mini album 'Flow' will be released on various music sites at 6 p.m. on September 3.
