NewJeans Transforms Into NJZ, Set for March Activities Amid Legal Battle with ADOR

Group Newzins will carry out its own activities as NZ.

On the 9th, NZ posted a picture on its official account, saying, `It's been a long time since I took a group selfie.' The released photo shows Minji Hani and Daniel Harin Hyein smiling brightly in a V pose.

Members "I think I had a very fruitful day today. Burns (Newzins' official fan club) also added, "Wish you warm while listening to good music."

Newzins announced on the 7th that they have named their new team NJZ. In addition, the account 'Jeanspo Free' opened separately from Adore has also been changed to 'NJZ Official'.

At the same time, he also announced plans for his activities as an NJZ. NZ will appear in 'Complex Live' at the Asia World Expo in Hong Kong in March. "We will release NJZ's new song and debut song on March 23rd, the last day of the Complex Con. "We will have an agent soon."

In this regard, Adore said "We are very sorry that the members made this choice unilaterally even before the legal judgment was made."

In November last year, Newzins announced the termination of its exclusive contract with its agency, Adore. At the time, the members said there was no obligation to compensate for the penalty because it was to terminate the exclusive contract due to the breach of the contract by Odor, and that they would continue to use Newzins' name. However, the members have not used the name Newzins due to the possibility of spreading to trademark issues.

On the other hand, Adore filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract, saying that the exclusive contract with Newzins is valid until July 2029. It also applied for a ban on preserving the status of an agency and signing an advertising contract.

In the midst of this, Newzins has begun its own move to NZ.

Unfortunately, however, it is difficult to picture only a rosy future. First of all, the court battle against Odor begins in March. On March 7, the Seoul Central District Court will hold a date for an injunction interrogation, including the preservation of the status of an agency and the signing of an advertising contract. In addition, the first hearing date for a lawsuit to confirm the validity of an exclusive contract will be held on April 3.

Hani's visa issue also remains. Hani, a dual Australian and Vietnamese citizen, has been working on an E-6 (art promotion) visa issued through Odor. This visa expires at the beginning of this month. To obtain an E-6 visa under the Korean Popular Culture Industry Act, you must submit an exclusive contract, a pop culture and arts enterprise registration certificate, an identity guarantee from the agency's representative, and an employment recommendation letter from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Odor said it is preparing documents for Hani's visa extension because it is in the position that the exclusive contract with Newzins is valid. However, if Hani does not return to Adore, there is no way that Adore will cooperate with Hani's visa extension. However, if Newzins signs a contract with a company other than Adore, legal problems could arise due to the violation of the exclusive contract.

In addition, there are many mountains to overcome, including public fatigue except for core fandom Bunnies, suspicions of former A-Door CEO Min Hee-jin's tampering, and opposition from the industry.

Attention is focusing on what path Newzins, who announced his re-debut as an NZ player, will take.
