Veteran pitcher Song Eun-beom (40), who took off his uniform after the LG Twins last season, will wear the Samsung Lions uniform.

The Samsung Lions officially announced on the afternoon of the 25th that they signed a contract with pitcher Song Eun-beom for an annual salary of 50 million won and an option of 30 million won for the rest of the season to strengthen the bullpen.

Song Eun-beom, who joined SK through the first nomination in 2003, pitched in a total of 680 KBO games and recorded 88 wins, 95 losses, 57 holds, 27 saves, and an ERA of 4.57.

Song Eun-beom, who joined the Gyeongsan Ball Park rehabilitation team in mid-May and conducted systematic training, passed the club's final test through ball power checks and live pitching in mid-July. Currently, physical training and technical training are being conducted in parallel to minimize the gap.

After coming out of LG last winter, Song Eun-beom applied for a JTBC entertainment program 'strongest baseball' tryout, drawing attention. Dustin Nippert, who threw a 144km fastball, became the pitcher's final performer even though he showed 139km of rusty skills at the time.

Song Eun-beom, who has rebuilt his body through intense training this month and a half, reportedly received a final acceptance letter this time by raising his speed to up to 143km in Samsung's last test.

Song Eun-beom, who finished his contract with Samsung, said, `Thank you to the club for trusting and giving me the opportunity, and I will communicate with young players to help the team", he expressed his feelings.

Song Eun-beom, who joined the SK Wyverns as the first designated pitcher in 2003, has been a starter and an all-weather pitcher in the bullpen for a total of 21 seasons.

In 680 games in the first division, he played in various positions, including starters and bullpens, recording 88 wins, 95 losses, 27 saves, 57 holds, and an ERA of 4.57.

He was released in November after leaving a 2.45 ERA without losing or losing four games at LG last year.

Samsung, which is on alert due to its weak bullpen, moved quickly with six days to go until the 31st, the deadline for recruiters who can play in the postseason.

Samsung is expected to serve as a mentor for young pitchers as well as revitalizing the bullpen, which has lost physical strength in the second half of the year based on abundant experience," he said, explaining the reason for his recruitment.
