2024 Park Shin-ja Cup International Basketball Competition will be held in Asan, and 10 teams from 3 countries will participate



The Park Shin-ja Cup Women's Basketball Competition', which has grown into an international competition since last year, will be held in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do this year.

The Korean Women's Basketball Federation (WKBL) announced on the 23rd that the '2024 Woori Bank Park Shin-ja Cup' will be held at Asan Yi Sun-shin Gymnasium from Aug. 31 to Sept. 8 in Asan. It is the first time in eight years that the Park Shin-ja Cup will be held in Asan since 2016.

Since last year, the Park Shin-ja Cup, which has been upgraded to an international competition, will have a total of 10 teams from three countries, including three Japanese teams and one Taiwanese team, from six WKBL clubs this year. In Japan, defending champion Toyota Antelopes, Fujitsu Red Wave, the unified 2023-2024 W-League winner, and Hitachi Hi-Tech, a member of the W-League, expressed their intention to participate in the Park Shin-ja Cup for the first time. In Taiwan, Kesay Life, who participated in the 2022 competition, will visit Korea again in two years.



The 10 teams will be divided into groups A and B to qualify, and the first and second places in each group will play the semifinals and finals. Group A includes Asan Woori Bank, Hitachi Hi-Tech, Cheongju KB Stars, Toyota Antelopes, and Busan BNK Sum, while Group B consists of Yongin Samsung Life Insurance, Keisei Life, Incheon Shinhan Bank, Fujitsu Red Wave, and Bucheon Hana One Q. The prize money for winning the competition was set at 30 million won. The MVP receives a prize of 2 million won.

The opening game will be held at 2 p.m. on August 31 between Woori Bank and Hitachi High Tech, and details such as detailed game schedules can be found on the WKBL official website and WKBL official SNS channel. In addition, ticket reservation details will be announced later.
