It was an unexpected downpour.

It is unclear whether the Samsung Lions-KIA Tigers match scheduled at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on the 17th will be held normally. The sudden rain caused the infield to become a sea of water, and a major overhaul became inevitable.

Earlier in the day, a large-scale ground maintenance took place at Kia Champions Field. With the game not being held due to rain a day ago, the cover-up work to remove the wet infield soil and newly peel it began early in the morning. After barely finishing the work, the maintenance was completed before the home team KIA training time at 3 p.m.

But at 3:30 p.m., it suddenly rained a lot. Looking at the clouds in the sky, ground officials had already prepared large tarps and infield tarps by the ground. However, a large amount of rain poured so much that the large tarpaulin on the ground could not move, and eventually, the hard-maintained ground turned back into a sea of water.

The rain stopped in seven minutes, but the infield has already become a huge swimming pool. The ground manager and the KBO game management committee rushed out to check, but they couldn't hide their bewilderment. At this rate, the covered soil work will have to be carried out as it is this morning. Even if the maintenance is only completed, it is unclear whether it will be held at 6:30 p.m.

KIA has announced Yang Hyun-jong and Samsung has announced Reyes.
