Tottenham captain Son Heung-min delivered a tribute for his best friend and teammate Ben Davis. Davis celebrated his 10th anniversary at Tottenham. Son Heung-min was full of affection for Davis, his best friend at Tottenham.
Son Heung-min sent a tribute on the 23rd (Korea time) on the Tottenham official website to mark the 10th anniversary of Davis' Tottenham. Son Heung-min said "I can't say bad things. I can only think of good words. Davis is a family man and has a warm heart. It's smart, too. He's the smartest person I've ever seen. Our friendship grew over the years."
The depth of friendship between Son Heung-min and Davis went beyond mere teammates. Davis was the one who reached out when Son Heung-min had some difficulty adapting after joining Tottenham. Since then, the friendship between the two players has begun, and nine years have passed.

The relationship that started like that continued outside the stadium. Son Heung-min is well known for spending most of his time at home except for training, an exception for his time with Davis. If Son Heung-min's best partner inside the stadium was Harry Kane, it was Davis outside the stadium. The two players were often seen eating together by fans. Son also attended Davis' wedding.
No player has spent longer with Son Heung-min than Davis at Tottenham. This is because Kane, Eric Dier, and Hugo Lloris, who spent a really long time with Son Heung-min, all left. Son Heung-min has now become Tottenham's captain, and Davis is now the only player who can help Son when leading the team.
Davis also thinks Son Heung-min is very special. Davis recently gave birth to a son, making Son Heung-min his godfather. As Davis recently revealed that his son's godfather was Son Heung-min, it was once again known how close the relationship between the two players was.

Davis is one of my best friends when there was talk of Son Heung-min during the last season as well. He is also my son's godfather. Son Heung-min's whole life is geared towards soccer. If someone deserves to succeed, it would be Son Heung-min. The reason is purely because of Son Heung-min's hard work," he said, adding that he is the closest to Son Heung-min.
"The pressure that Son Heung-min feels to do well every week is crazy, but he always does it. We're doing really well this year. I think I have a responsibility as the captain of this team. He is one of the hardest players in training every day. What a great player. Son Heung-min's ability to score goals with his left foot and right foot is amazing. He also praised Son for his professional attitude.

Now it was Son Heung-min's turn to praise Davis. First, Son Heung-min explained how special he had a relationship with Davis. "When I was at Tottenham, I got close to the players, but Davis was more special. We have come to the next stage. I can tell you that Davis is my family, and truly someone I can trust. I'll always ask Davis when I'm in trouble or when I need advice. That's how much Davis trusted him,' Davis said, adding that Son now has a family-like relationship with Son.
For Son Heung-min, who has been running for soccer since childhood, Davis was a comfortable haven and a true friend who could sometimes say bitter things. He said "I left Korea at the age of 16. If you leave Korea at such a young age, you don't have many friends. Davis is the only one like that to me. He is a fantastic man. Davis is someone who can come forward and say something if he needs to say something difficult to someone. Right now, I'm in a position where people would say 'Yeah, you're right' just saying anything. But Davis can tell you 'No, that's not right'. That's really impressive,' he said, explaining what Davis was like as a friend.

Son Heung-min also loved Davis inside the stadium. Davis has been playing for Tottenham for more than a decade, silently doing his part, although he was not beloved by many fans after his transfer to Tottenham.
Son Heung-min said "Davis is the same on the field. Never complains, works hard, plays for the team. We live for soccer. When we go out for dinner or have brunch with Davis' wife and son, we always talk about football. He loves football and has never gone downhill as a player. It's very important to be consistent in terms of professionalism, and Davis does just that. He has been playing in the English Premier League for more than a decade. This is a really difficult task.'Davis' professionalism can be an example.

Also "Davis is a competent professional and a player that everyone can respect. To me, he is a role model. Everyone would say Davis was a little underrated but he always shone every time he had to step up, and helped the team in various ways. That's Davis. Always being there for the team, always being a team player, always acting for the club," he said with a thumbs up.
Son Heung-min brought up an anecdote about the last time he became the godfather of Davis' son. He "I am the godfather of Ralph, Davis' son. It was an incredible feeling to be invited. At our age, many friends and many players have wives and children. Life changed so fast. Davis invited me to his family. It was my first time feeling like a godfather, and I was so grateful that Davis felt that way, even if it wasn't my son," he said, talking about their special relationship.

Son Heung-min and Davis are now inseparable. Since they are professional players, they may meet as enemies one day, but their friendship will not change.
