The golden opportunity to escape from the last place flew in vain. K League 1 Daejeon Hana Citizen drew 1-1 with Gangwon FC as it failed to keep its winning spirit at home and allowed an equalizer in the second half.

Daejeon played a 23rd round home game against Gangwon at 7:30 p.m. on the 13th at Daejeon World Cup Stadium, its home stadium. Daejeon was desperate for victory to escape last place. The away team Gangwon-do also added three points to aim for a higher position. Meanwhile, Jeju United defeated the Pohang Steelers 2-1 with foreign player Yuri Jonathan's theatrical goal. The first half ended without a goal. The battle between the two teams was unearned.

However, in the 14th minute of the second half, Pohang Hong Yoon-sang scored the first goal to take the lead. It didn't last long. Jeju made it 1-1 with Hayes' equalizer four minutes later.
