Seoul Convention High School won 13-5 in the 79th Cheongryonggi National High School Baseball Championship and the weekend league's King Jung Wang match against Gyeongbuk High School at Shinwol Baseball Stadium on the 4th. He eliminated Kyungpook High School, the winner of last year's Cheongryonggi and a prestigious traditional team, in the first round.
Seoul Convention High School's Lee Ye-sung, who boasts a physique of 187cm and 90kg, pitched 79 pitches in the bottom of the fourth inning with his team leading 5-2, allowing two hits, eight strikeouts, and one run in six innings, tying the opponent's batting line.
Seoul Convention High School tied two runs in the top of the third inning with two hits and four pitches, but Gyeongbuk High School's Kim Woo-hyuk hit a two-run timely hit with two outs and runners on the first and second bases to tie the score 2-2.
Convention High School's leadoff hitter Choi Yun-ho advanced with a double in the top of the fourth inning, followed by a sacrifice bunt, Jung Woo-rin tried a squeeze bunt to turn it around 3-2, and Lee Yeon-woo hit a two-run timely hit with one out and runners on the second and third bases, widening the gap to 5-2. Convention High School, which had a run in the top of the seventh inning, gave up one run in the bottom of the seventh inning, but added four runs in the eighth inning and three runs in the ninth inning to win 13-5.
