Right-hander Kim Joo-on, who came to the LG Twins after being released from SSG Landers, showed sluggish performance in his first appearance since the transfer.

Kim Joo-on took the mound as the second pitcher in the bottom of the third inning in a Futures League game against the Goyang Heroes in Goyang on the 3rd, but he was replaced after allowing two hits (one homer) with two walks and one out.

Kim Joo-on graduated from Ulsan Technical High School and was nominated by the Samsung Lions in the second seventh round in 2015. Kim Joo-on, who moved to the SK Wyverns in the second draft in November 2017, made his first-team debut only in 2020. At that time, manager Yeom Kyung-yeop of the LG Twins is now manager. He pitched 31 innings in 29 games, recording three losses and a 7.55 ERA, but showed potential for growth with fast balls over 150km.

However, it was not seen well in the first team since then. He played only two games in 2021, five games in 2022, and one game in 2023.

This season, he pitched four ⅔ innings in two games and allowed eight runs. In the Futures League, he pitched in 10 games (7 starts), recording 1 win, 2 losses and a 2.78 ERA with 1 hold.

SSG released pitchers Jung Sung-gon and Kim Joo-on Yoo Ho-sik and catcher Kim Gun-yi on June 13. The reason SSG let them go is that there are players returning from the military and they need to create a place for prospects who need to be raised.

And LG recruited Kim Joo-on in a surprise move on June 21, a week later. Coach Yeom, who saw Kim Joo-on's potential when he was at SK, embraced him again.

And he showed sluggish performance in his first appearance in the LG uniform.

Kim Joo-on, who came up as the second pitcher after starter Lee Jong-joon in the bottom of the third inning when he was 0-0, was nervous because it was his first appearance after moving the team. The control of the ball was shaky.

Kim Si-ang, the first No. 8, got on base with a hit ball on the second pitch, threw three consecutive balls to No. 9 Shim Hui-yoon, and eventually gave up a walk, and allowed a straight walk to No. 1 Won Sung-joon, facing the crisis of loading the bases with no outs.

He also threw a first pitch ball to No. 2 Kim Woong-bin and gave up two runs on the second pitch after getting a hit in front of center field.

He threw a strike after three balls to No. 3 Lim Byung-wook, and allowed a three-run shot over the right fence on the fifth pitch. 0-5 at once.

In the end, he was replaced by third pitcher Bae Jae-joon at the 4th Lee Myung-ki's at-bat.

He threw a total of 18 pitches against five players. He threw nine fastballs with a maximum speed of 145 kilometers, two pitching simulations and seven sliders.

For LG, which has difficulty forming a bullpen this season, it is important to raise at least one must-win group. I wonder if Kim Joo-on will be able to overcome the failure in SSG and blossom his skills in LG, which has started anew. First of all, his first appearance was disappointing.
