'Efforts for a More Accurate Decision' 2024 KOVO Judgment Academy Award

A total of 38 judges, including 24 judges, 10 professional committee members and four new applicants, participated in the judging academy, where theoretical and practical training was conducted at Sangam Nuri Dream Square, Korean Air Practice Gymnasium and Suwon Yeongsaeng High School for 10 days from July 2 to 11.
The theoretical education conducted from the 2nd to the 5th was conducted through group discussion and presentation-oriented education, unlike the previous lecture-oriented education. There were heated discussions on various topics, including video reading standards and differences between the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) rules and local rules in Korea. Along with the group discussion, special lectures were held by inviting outside instructors to motivate and educate the judges.
In practical training followed by theoretical training, hand, flag signal training, and practical game practice were conducted. In the actual game practice held by inviting the high school volleyball team, referees were assigned to each set and self-evaluated after the end, and on the spot, they shared their opinions on the decisions that occurred in each situation.
Choi Jae-hyo, the newly appointed chairman of the judging committee this season, said, `This academy introduced a new debate-style education to foster on-site response capabilities, and through this, we will make efforts to facilitate the operation of the game next season" expressed his feelings.
In addition, the federation will put referees in practice games between clubs during the offseason to maintain the referees' sense of practice, and will it be in Tongyeong in September 2024?Starting with the Dodram Cup professional volleyball tournament, we plan to prepare for the successful operation of the next season.
