'Ferguson's legacy' Tottenham is ready to reach out as Scott McTominay comes to an end to his 22-year Manchester United career.

Britain's TBR Football reported on the 18th (Korea time) 'Tottenham is planning to invest 40 million pounds (about 71 billion won) to recruit McTominay'

Tottenham are preparing to recruit in several positions this summer, signaling a full-fledged challenge to win the next season under coach Enze Postecoglou. Special prospect Archie Gray has already joined the team, and Ivan Toney, Victor Jockeres, Pedru Net and Eberich Eze are mentioned as candidates for the attack.

However, the midfield is also a position where Tottenham still has the task of strengthening its power. At the beginning of last season, Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr seemed to disappear with their excellent skills, but since the second half, both Bissouma and Sarr have fallen out of form, and problems in the midfield have been hampered again.

Conor Gallagher and James Garner were mentioned as candidates for recruitment, but the player Tottenham recently turned to was Manchester United midfielder McTominay.

McTominay is a one-club man who made his debut in the Manchester United first team in 2017 after joining the Manchester United youth team in 2002 and has been active only in Manchester United for 22 years so far. In particular, he was praised for his outstanding potential to the extent that he was publicly praised by Ferguson in the past.

McTominay, with his daredevil play, physicality and a lot of activity, was expected to be the mainstay of the team for several seasons after his debut in the Manchester United first team, but he is currently a Manchester United bench member due to his below-expected growth. Manchester United, preparing for a change under owner Jim Ratcliffe next season, has actively considered selling McTominay and reorganizing the midfield by recruiting new players.

Tottenham took note of McTominay's situation. TBR Football added: 'Tottenham still want to reinforce the midfield despite signing Gray and Lucas Beribal. The initial goal of recruiting Gallagher showed no signs of progress. Tottenham entered the pre-season, and Postecoglou turned his attention to McTominay for a pre-Asian tour. McTominay could be an alternative to Gallagher. He is not currently a first-team starter at Manchester United.

If McTominay moves to Tottenham before the Asian tour as planned by Tottenham, he is expected to visit Korea with Son Heung-min. Tottenham will visit Korea on the 31st and August 3rd to host matches against Team K League and Bayern Munich, respectively.
