2024 professional baseball is on the verge of reaching 6 million spectators in the first half of its history.
This season, the KBO League recorded 5,929,395 cumulative spectators in 408 games until the 2nd.
There are 70,605 people left before reaching 6 million. It is likely to achieve 6 million spectators in the remaining first half of the year. Dalseong City will surpass 6 million spectators in the first half of the KBO League history.
With up to 418 games available in the first half, it will be able to surpass 6 million spectators in history, exceeding the record of exceeding 6 million spectators at the time of 419 games in 2012.
Despite the inclement weather, all 10 KBO League clubs maintain an average of more than 10,000 spectators thanks to the fierce ranking fight. The overall average attendance is 14,533, an increase of 32% compared to the same number of home games for each club last season.
LG, which has 18,604 spectators on average, maintains the No. 1 spot. More than 15,000 average spectators entered from six clubs, including 17,763 KIA in second place, 17,356 Doosan in third place, 16,461 Lotte in fourth place, 16,437 Samsung in fifth place, and 15,068 SSG in sixth place.
Hanwha still maintains a seat share of over 90% with an average audience of 11,291 and a seat share of 94%. KT (11,838), NC (10,405), and Kiwoom (11,158) increased their spectators by 29%, 43%, and 32%, respectively, compared to the previous season, and the average audience increased from the time when the number of spectators exceeded 5 million.
As a sold-out game, Hanwha achieved its 30th home game of the season in Cheongju on June 20, setting an overwhelming sell-out record. Following this, five clubs are setting double-digit sales records with 17th KIA, 15th Doosan, 12th Samsung and 11th LG.
