Hanwha created chances for first and second base with consecutive hits by An Chi-hong and Lee Jae-won after two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Moon Hyun-bin, who was a pinch hitter, hit an infield ground ball in the direction of second base against the corner.
Samsung's second baseman Ryu Ji-hyuk caught the ball and threw it to the first base, but he made a throwing error that the ball flew high and fell out. Second baseman An Chi-hong scored.
Hanwha, chasing 2-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning, created another chance after two outs.
