Lim Joon-hyung graduated from Gwangju Jinheung High School and joined LG in the 75th place in the 2nd 8th round in 2019. He entered the first team in 2021 and pitched in six games with a 1.13 ERA, and in 2022, he entered 10 games with a 1-3 record with a 6.00 ERA before joining Sangmu.
Lim Joon-hyung, who played in 12 games (nine starts) in Sangmu last year and had a 4-1 record with a 3.40 ERA, underwent surgery to remove bone fragments in his elbow in the second half of the season and went back to rehabilitation after taking the mound twice as a starter earlier this year. And two months later, he pitched one inning in relief against SSG on June 27, and played ⅔ innings against SSG on the 12th, three days before his discharge. He lost one game and had a 2.70 ERA in four games (two starts) this year.
Lim Joon-hyung was classified as a starting resource rather than a bullpen because he was not quick to catch but had good breaking balls and ball control when he was at LG. He also started in Sangmu. When he was in LG, his fastball speed was only 141 to 142 kilometers, but it is known that it has improved to 145 kilometers from Sangmu.
Manager Yeom has long said he will use Lim Joon-hyung as a bullpen resource immediately after he is discharged from the military. Because the more left-handed bullpens there are, the better. It is true that they are having a hard time facing the opponent's left-handed batter because they do not have stable throwing resources right now.
Currently, the most problematic part of LG's power is the bullpen. The starter seems to have found a sense of stability, and the batting line has also shown signs of improvement. However, the bullpen is still full of question marks.
It is important to hold out until Park Myung-geun, Kim Yoo-young and Ham Deok-ju return, and if Lim Joon-hyung plays the role, it will be a great relief force.
