I can't believe we played in a place where there was no pitch clock on the first day of the official implementation... What happened to the Futures League
The match between Hanwha and SSG at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on the 28th. The pitch clock points to one second with Hanwha's Noh Si-hwan facing SSG Oh Won-seok. Incheon = Reporter Jeong Jae-geun cjg@sportschosun.com /2024.3.28/
The KBO League exhibition game between Samsung and Lotte at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on the 14th. A stopwatch is installed in front of the infield stands for pitch clock. Daegu=Park Jae-man Reporter pjm@sportschosun.com /2024.03.14/
Peach Clock will be piloted in the first team this year, but not in the second team. It was piloted only in the first half and officially implemented in the second half.

From the 9th, a ball or strike will be declared if a violation is made due to a pitch clock in the Futures League. But on the first day, nothing happened.

On the 9th, the Futures League was scheduled to be held at five stadiums: Icheon (Koyang-Doosan), Seosan (LG-Hanwha), Hampyeong (SSG-KIA), Iksan (Sangmu-KT), and Masan (Samsung-NC). However, Icheon, Seosan, Iksan, and Masan were canceled due to rain, and only Hampyeong games were held.

However, the pitch clock was not applied properly in this game. The reason was that the stadium was changed. The main stadium where the game should be played was difficult to play normally due to the rain, so we played at B Stadium, an artificial stadium. However, since the pitch clock was installed only in the main stadium, it was inevitable to play without pitch clock in B stadium, where there was no pitch clock. The game lasted only until the fifth inning, and SSG won 6-0.

From the 10th, we will play a game with real pitch clock applied. The pitch clock set by KBO was set to pitch within 18 seconds when there was no runner and within 23 seconds when there was a runner. The catcher should be in the position of position until 9 seconds are left, and the batter should be ready to hit at the plate until 8 seconds are left. When the defense team violates, the ball is declared, and when the batter violates, a strike is given.

According to the pitch clock violations in the first half of this year, 2,975 violations of pitchers in 418 games (2269 when runners were present, 706 when runners were not present), 2425 violations of batters, and 62 violations of catchers. An average of 13.1 violations per game.

In the case of the Futures League, a total of 1,236 violations were recorded in 320 games, with 684 violations of pitchers, 552 violations of batters and 16 violations of catchers. The figure is 3.86 times per game, which is significantly lower than that of the first team. KBO expects more violations in the Futures League if strikes and balls are determined due to pitch clocks.
