Pittsburgh Pirates Bae Ji-hwan was called to the Major League for the second time this season.

Local media outlet Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on the 27th (Korea Standard Time) 'The Pirates called up utility man Bae Ji-hwan from Triple-A Indianapolis ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks match at Chase Field today and removed reliever Hunter Stratton from the injured list'

It is the first time in 32 days that Bae Ji-hwan has been on the Major League roster since he was placed on the injured list (IL) due to a wrist injury on June 4 and was released on June 25 and went down to Triple-A.

Bae Ji-hwan's promotion this time is a substitute character. This is because All-Star outfielder Brian Reynolds was listed on the "喪" list.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Bad Ji-hwan will fill the spot where All-Star outfielder Reynolds is missing due to family injury, and he will return on the 29th. In other words, when Reynolds returns, Bae Ji-hwan must go back down to Triple-A.

Pittsburgh coach Derek Shelton called in some players as Reynolds was outReynolds is the best player on our team. Reynolds has a batting average of 0.288, 18 homers, 61 RBIs, 49 runs scored, and an OPS of 0.839. He is active as the second batter of Pittsburgh's lineup.

Bae Ji-hwan will be able to stay in the Major League for two days from the 27th to the 28th, but he did not play against Arizona on the 27th, so it remains to be seen whether he will play against Arizona on the 28th.

Bae Ji-hwan, who is on the 40-man roster this season, is rarely given a chance to play in the Major League.

Bae Ji-hwan injured his left hip muscle ahead of the opening of the season and was on the injured list (IL) and was squeaky from the start.

After that, he started his rehabilitation game at Single-A Bradenton Murders on April 8, immediately moved to Triple-A Indianapolis Indians to continue his rehabilitation game, and was released from the IL on April 15 and began to learn his sense of practice in earnest.

Bae Ji-hwan, who hit hard with a .367 batting average in Triple-A until May 20, was finally called up to the Major League on May 22 and began to show his presence by playing mainly in center field. However, after hitting .208 (5 hits in 24 at-bats), two RBIs, five runs, two steals, and an OPS of 0.478 in eight games, he injured his right wrist on June 4 and was re-listed on the IL.

He was later released from the IL on June 25 while undergoing rehabilitation, but was transferred back to Triple-A and had to continue his unexpected minor league life again.

However, Bae Ji-hwan, who continued to hit hard in Indianapolis amid the club's indifference, finally received his second call-up of the season and will be on the Major League stage. Coincidentally, this day is Bae Ji-hwan's birthday.

He had a batting average of 0.355 (65 hits in 183 at-bats) in Triple-A until the 25th, five home runs, 26 RBIs, 36 points, 26 walks, 12 steals, a on-base percentage of 0.434, a slugging percentage of 0.497 and an OPS of 0.931. He has been hitting hard enough to wonder why he didn't call him to the Major League.
