It made the second place team cry again.

The KIA Tigers won the Samsung Lions. KIA beat Samsung 10-5 at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on the 17th. Including Na Sung-bum's bases-loaded walk, he made six runs and big innings in the bottom of the third inning alone to win the game. With the victory, Kia has firmly maintained its lead with 53 wins, 2 draws and 35 losses throughout the season. Samsung failed to close the gap as starter Danny Reyes stepped down after three innings, while Kim Yoon-soo, who was recently discharged from the military, collapsed. Samsung had 48 wins, two draws and 41 losses.

KIA got the first run in the bottom of the first inning with Kim Do-young's sacrifice fly with one out and third base made by Socrates' double and Choi Won-joon's sacrifice bunt. In the bottom of the third inning, with two outs and runners on second base, Choi Hyung-woo fired a superior two-run shot, widening the gap to 3-0.

Samsung succeeded in tying the game in the top of the fourth inning. After two outs, Kim Young-woong hit a two-run double in the scoring chance caught by Kang Min-ho's left-center hit and Lee Sung-kyu's walk, and Park Byung-ho also hit a timely hit to tie the game 3-3.

However, KIA took the lead with a big inning in the bottom of the fourth inning. When leadoff hitter Seo Geon-chang got on base with a hit, Samsung put Kim Yun-soo on the mound instead of Reyes. However, the gap widened to 9-3 as Kim Yoon-soo gave up a run with four walks, and Hwang Dong-jae, who took the mound in relief with the bases loaded with two outs, allowed Na Sung-bum to hit the bases loaded.

Samsung succeeded in bringing down starter Yang Hyun-jong with Kang Min-ho's timely hit and Lee Sung-kyu's walk in the top of the fifth inning with two outs and a runner on second base. However, Kim Dae-yu, who took the mound in relief with two outs and runners on the first and second bases, struck out Kim Young-woong, and failed to chase any more.

KIA scored a decisive run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Han Jun-su's sacrifice fly added one point to make it 10-5 in the first and third base chances caught by Kim Sun-bin's double to right-center and Seo Geon-chang's bunt infield hit. After that, KIA eventually completed a five-run victory as the bullpen blocked the inning without losing a point.
