Ohtani played as the second designated hitter in the National League (NL) in the All-Star Game at Globe Life Field on the 17th (Korea time) and hit a delightful three-run home run in the top of the third inning.
NL had a chance to get the first and second bases with no outs in the third inning due to the leadoff Jurickson Profar's right-handed hit and Ketel Marte's second baseman error on base.
Ohtani, who then went to the batter's box, pulled the third 88.7-mile splitter into the middle of the two-ball against American League (AL) starter Tanner Hauke and crossed the right fence well.
Statcast measured the home run at a launch angle of 29 degrees, a batting speed of 103.7 miles, and a distance of 400 feet (122 meters).
Ohtani's first home run in the All-Star Game came in four games and eight at-bats since his first participation in 2021. Until last year, he had one hit and two walks in four at-bats in three games.
Earlier, Ohtani walked to get on base in his first at-bat.AL right-hander Corbin Burns continued his careful pitching centered on corner walks and picked it out with a ball when he threw a 96-mile cutter outside the sixth pitch in the full count.
The NL then had a chance on the second and third bases when Bryce Harper hit a double falling to the left after Trey Turner stepped down on a fly to center field, but William Contreras grounded out to the pitcher and failed to score.
