The number of spectators who visited 41 home games played by Lotte Giants at Sajik Stadium this year totaled 674,902, with an average of 16,461 per game. The cumulative audience increased 23% from last year, and the income also increased that much. At this rate, there is an expectation that the era of 1 million spectators at Sajik Stadium will reopen for the first time in seven years since 2017, when Lotte entered the last fall baseball league.
The number of visitors and enthusiasm are spring of resignation, but the viewing environment is the worst in the country.
When it rains, the dugout becomes a swimming pool, water leaks throughout the building, and it is common to smell. Due to the steep and slippery slope of the stairs in the stands, officials are bound to be concerned about safety accidents. Lotte, the home team that is 'Let's Rent', has spent a considerable amount of money to repair it, but it has been a long time since it reached its limit.

This is due to the expectation that a new baseball stadium will soon be built in Busan.
The Busan Metropolitan Government plans to begin rebuilding Sajik Stadium in 2026. It has completed its plan to build a state-of-the-art open stadium with 21,000 seats at the site of Sajik Stadium. It's a reconstruction, but a new stadium is actually being built. Expectations were high that a specialty that would build the pride of Busan, 'Gudo', which had been left regretful due to poor infrastructure contrary to the hot heat, would be born.
But all of these ideas are just plans. The implementation is hardly speeding up.
According to the basic plan for the reconstruction of Sajik Stadium announced last year, Busan City planned to pay 214.6 billion won out of the total project cost of 362 billion won, Lotte Group planned to pay 81.7 billion won, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism planned to pay 29.9 billion won. Lotte Group has already prepared support funds following the conclusion of a business agreement signed with the Busan Metropolitan Government in 2021. However, the Busan Metropolitan Government, which said it would be responsible for more than 200 billion won, is still negotiating with the government on the amount of state funding.

The construction of Sajik New Stadium is a pledge project of Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon, who took office in 2021. After winning re-election the following year, the business gained momentum and materialized. Sajik New Stadium, which has been only a slogan, even though it has been a regular pledge every election season. As the project announcement became a reality, not only Lotte but also professional baseball fans were all welcoming. But again there is a dark shadow of 'empty checks'.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government decided on the 9th that the LG Twins and Doosan Bears will temporarily use the Jamsil Main Stadium from 2027 to 2031, during the construction of Jamsil Dome. It even proposed a specific plan to expand to 18,000 seats during the pennant race and 30,000 seats under the premise of safety measures in the postseason. The Jamsil Dome project, which completed the eligibility survey in 2021, has been passed by the city council's standing committee, passed by the plenary session, proposed private investment projects and evaluated documents, selected preferred negotiators, and continued to create alternative stadiums.
It is a rapid move compared to the reconstruction project of Sajik Stadium, which has not been able to take a step forward.
