On the 8th, Busan High School won 11-2 in the 79th Cheongryonggi National High School Baseball Championship and the weekend league King Wangjung match (co-hosted by the Chosun Ilbo, Sports Chosun, and Korea Baseball Softball Association) at Mokdong Stadium in Seoul.
Busan High School pressured the opponent by scoring five points from the first inning. In the first round, Seoul Convention High School beat Gyeongsangbuk-do High School, the winner of last year's Cheongryonggi, to advance to the second round.
But Busan High School was strong. Starting with the leadoff hitter Park Jae-hwi in the bottom of the first inning, he had the luck of overlapping walks and opponent errors, and Ahn Ji-won and Park Jae-yeop's hits, and the opponent's consecutive wild pitches and errors quickly scored five points. Seoul Convention High School gave up five runs (three earned runs) while starting pitcher Shin Jin-kyu grabbed two out-counts in the first inning, struggling amid ball control difficulties.
After leadoff hitter Lee Seo-joon's on-base in the bottom of the third inning, Busan High School scored every inning except for the second inning with a sacrifice bunt, an infield grounder, and Park Jae-hwi's bunt hit. The Seoul Convention also scored one point each in the fourth and sixth innings, but it was 11-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning and nine points apart, and the cold game was declared after the top of the seventh inning.
At the same time, Jangchung High School beat Sorae High School 2-1 in the second round showdown at Shinwol Stadium. Jangchung High School's starter Lee Ha-rang spent four innings without hits, two walks and one strikeout, and second pitcher Seo Moon-joon pitched five innings of three hits, six strikeouts, and one run to keep the win by one point.
Jangchung High School, who scored the first run in the top of the second inning with three consecutive hits by Han Chan-hee, Jang Jin-hyuk and Kang Min-seok, allowed a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning, but Ji Yo-han's timely hit in the top of the eighth inning allowed him to win 2-1.
The second round match between Masan Yongmago and Daegu Sangwon, which was followed at Shinwol Stadium, was declared a rain suspension in the top of the fourth inning with Masan Yongmago leading 1-0. Since the start of the game, the rain has become thicker and has been suspended, and the game is scheduled to continue at 9:30 a.m. on the 9th with one out in the top of the fourth inning.
Meanwhile, two games scheduled to be held at Mokdong Stadium and one game scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. at Shinwol Stadium were postponed due to rain. As the rain, which began to fall in the morning, intensified beyond 12 p.m., it was judged that it was difficult to proceed normally. The matches have been reorganized.
On the 9th, there will be a match between Seoul High School and Korea Martha BC (9:30 p.m.), Gyeongnam High School and Sang-Sanggo (12:00 p.m.), Ushin High School and Pohang Steel High (14:30 p.m.), and Daegu Sangwon High School and Masan Yong Mago (9:30 p.m., one-out suspension at the top of the fourth inning) Ansan Industrial High School and Gyeongmin IT High School (12:00 p.m.) Bukil High School and Gwangnam High School BC (14:30 p.m.) at Shinwol Stadium.
