Japanese star Yuta Watanabe has moved from the NBA to the Japanese professional basketball.

According to Yonhap News Agency, on the 12th 'Kyodo News reported on the 12th that Watanabe, who spent six seasons in the NBA, signed a one-year contract with the Chiba Jets of the B-League of Japan.

Watanabe, who chose to go to the U.S. after graduating from high school to advance to the NBA, made his NBA debut in 2018.

Played for the Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies. In Phoenix, he played an impactful role as a major backup member.

He is a 2m3 wingman who is an airlift double whiz with accurate 3-point shooting ability and good defense. He is considered the top star in Japanese men's basketball along with Rui Hachimura of the Los Angeles Lakers. He joined the Japanese national team to participate in the Paris Olympics.

Utah Watanabe's debut for the Chiba Jets is unusual. It is highly likely to be a showdown with the Seoul SK Knights.

The SK Knights will play an opening ceremony friendly against the Chiba Jets on Sept. 15 at Lara Arena Tokyo Bay (tentative name) in Chiba's new home stadium, although it has not been decided exactly yet.

It is highly likely that Utah Watanabe will make an appearance on this day.

SK has signed an official tie-breaking ceremony with the Chiba Jets. Last summer, four friendly invitations were held as part of off-season training.
