Jeju Samdasoo Masters opens on August 1st and who is the first golf queen in the second half of the KLPGA?

The 11th Jeju Samdasoo Masters', the first competition in the second half of the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour in the 2024 season, will be held in Blackstone Jeju from August 1st to 4th.

The Jeju Samdasoo Masters, co-hosted by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Development Corporation and Kwangdong Pharmaceutical, will be held with a total prize money of 1 billion won, including 180 million won in prize money.

The Jeju Samdasoo Masters, which marks its 11th anniversary this year, will feature 132 top domestic players, including defending champion and Jeju Samdasoo supporter Im Jin-hee, Park Sung-hyun, who drives a cloud-like gallery as an invited player, and Yoo Hae-ran, who shines as the 2023 LPGA Rookie of the Year. In addition, a total of six professional and amateur players from Jeju will also win the competition by selecting recommended players in the province to foster local sports talent. The Jeju Samdasoo Masters regional selection has served as a gateway for young golf dreamers in the province to enter the professional league and secure the seed rights for the KLPGA Tour.

Prior to the main competition, the Jeju Samdasoo G Tour Invitational', which is drawing attention as a match for screen golf tournaments between world No. 3 Ko Jin-young and Yoo Hae-ran, will be broadcast on Golf Zone TV on the 25th, and 20 million won will be donated to the Jeju Regional Headquarters of the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation in the name of the match winner.

The Jeju Samdasoo Masters tournament has been recognized for continuing to spread ESG (Environmental, Sharing, and Win-Win) values through sharing and donation activities over the past decade, and has added meaning by obtaining international standard ISO 20121 certification in February. This competition will also take the lead in realizing ESG values by operating Jeju Samdasoo Sharing Hall and Donation Hall, which donate as many items as birdies to vulnerable groups for holes 8 and 9.

Organizers also organized a rich event for galleries who visited the venue. In addition to events for family golf fans, such as stamp tours and SPLASH ZONE swimming pools, there will be plenty of prizes such as tournament hats, umbrellas, and various golf accessories.

In addition, in order to revitalize the local economy, on-site sales corners for duty-free goods operated by the Jeju Tourism Organization and the Jeju Economic and Trade Promotion Agency, visiting tourist information trucks, and Jeju specialty tasting and sales booths will be operated.

Meanwhile, about 15,000 people have participated in the Jeju Samdasoo Masters Screen Golf Tournament, which is being held from the end of June to the 28th along with the golf zone, raising expectations for the successful hosting of the Jeju Samdasoo Masters.

Baek Kyung-hoon, president of the Jeju Development Corporation, said, `I hope you spend the hot summer of August coolly with Jeju Samdasoo Masters, Jeju's representative sports festival during the summer.' `We ask for a lot of interest and participation from residents and tourists.'
