KIA Tigers booked the Winning Series by defeating the Samsung Lions for two consecutive days.

KIA won the match against Samsung 6-4 at Daegu Lions Park on the 3rd. KIA, which led the three points with Kim Do-young and Kim Tae-gun's solo shot and Socrates' timely hit, once allowed Samsung to turn the tables, but Na Sung-bum's consecutive timely hit in the top of the seventh inning turned the game around again. Starter Cam Aldred allowed only four runs in four ⅔ innings, but Jang Hyun-sik, who took the mound in relief, played two ⅓ and set the stage for victory. KIA, which broke its three-game losing streak by winning 9-5 after extra-inning blood on the 2nd, secured a pleasant victory for two consecutive days. 47 wins, 2 draws and 33 losses throughout the season. Samsung's starter Lee Seung-hyun pitched three runs in six innings, and Kim Hun-gon's chase shot and Jeon Byung-woo's timely hit made it a chance to win, but the bullpen collapsed again. Samsung, which has recorded its fourth consecutive win, has 44 wins, two draws and 38 losses.

KIA came from behind to win after a bloody battle a day earlier.

Kim Do-young, who took the lead in the top of the first inning, scored the first run. In the full count match against Lee Seung-hyun, he rolled up a 133km cutter that fell low and connected it to a solo shot over the middle wall. In the top of the second inning, Kim Tae-gun, who stood at the batter's box without a runner with two outs, hit a 141km fastball that came into the low course of his body and connected it with a solo shot to the left side to lead 2-0. In the top of the third inning, Socrates Brito made a timely hit over the second baseman's height with one out and runners on the first and third bases, widening the gap to 3-0.

Samsung's counterattack, which had remained silent due to three-and-out errors until the third inning, began in the fourth inning.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Kim Heon-gon's pushed ball crossed the right fence while there was no runner with one out and gained a chase point. In the bottom of the fifth inning, starting with Lee Sung-kyu's hit after one out, Ryu Ji-hyuk's pitch gave him a chance to score, and Jeon Byung-woo made a timely hit and followed up to a one-run gap. KIA called in Aldred, who had one out count left for the winning requirement, and put Jang Hyun-sik on the mound. Samsung's Kim Ji-chan struck out, but succeeded in turning the game around 4-3, thanks to Kim Heon-gon and Koo Ja-wook's consecutive timely hits. Lee Seung-hyun came down the mound with a winning requirement while handling a full withdrawal in the sixth inning.

However, KIA regained the lead in the top of the seventh inning. After one out against Samsung Yang-hyun, Park Chan-ho got on base with a right-handed hit, and Kim Sun-bin's grounder to the pitcher made it to second base with two outs. With Samsung putting Choi Sung-hoon on the mound, Park Chan-ho advanced to third base during a wild pitch, and Na Sung-bum made a double to left-center, tying the game 4-4. Samsung put forward Choi Ji-kwang with two outs and second base, but Na Sung-bum homered and made it 5-4 when Socrates hit left-handed.
