San Diego Padres Kim Ha-sung continued his hitting sense with three consecutive hits. In addition, he achieved 400 hits in total. However, he failed to add an RBI in three scoring titles.

Kim Ha-sung recorded one hit in four at-bats in an away game against the Washington Nationals at Washington DC Nationals Park on the 24th (Korea time). San Diego won 4-0, winning three in a row.

Kim Ha-sung, who has hit in three consecutive games since the game against the Cleveland Guardians on the 21st, marked a batting average of 0.225 (76 hits in 338 at-bats), 10 homers, 40 RBIs, 51 runs, 49 walks, 19 steals, a on-base percentage of 0.324, a slugging percentage of 0.367, and an OPS of 0.691.

Kim Ha-sung, who played as the sixth shortstop, stepped down with a shortstop fly in his first at-bat after two outs in the second inning. On one strike, he rolled up a changeup in the middle of 87.6 miles of opposing right-hander DJ Hurts, but it floated high between shortstop and left field.

In the fourth inning, when the score was 0-0, Kim Ha-sung made a hit with a surprise bunt. After one out, Xander Bogaerts' infield hit to shortstop and Manny Machado's walk accumulated two runners, and Jake Cronenworth hit a fly to center field to make it first and second with two outs. Kim Ha-sung, who then entered the batter's box, quickly sent a bunt to third base on Hurts' 93.2 miles fastball.

Washington third baseman Trae Lipscomb caught the ball that fell near the third base line, but it was too late to throw it to first base. Kim Ha-sung made his Major League debut in 2021 with this infield hit and reached the 400th hit in 520 games and 1898 at-bats. However, with the bases loaded with two outs, Jackson Merrill struck out swinging and failed to bring in a runner.

But San Diego scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning. After two outs, Luis Arraez and Jurickson Profar hit back-to-back home runs to take a 2-0 lead. Araez hit a slider in the middle of Hurts, and the right-center fence, and Profar also pulled a changeup in the middle and crossed the left-center fence, respectively.

Kim Ha-sung struck out in the sixth inning with one out and a third base chance. At ball count 1B2S, he swung and missed on opposing right-hander Derek Law's 87.3 mile low slider. Merrill then called in Machado with a right-handed hit, widening the gap to 3-0.

Kim Ha-sung had a bases-loaded chance in the eighth inning when the lead of 3-0 continued, but only a short outfield fly. After clearing two fouls in a row on the full count against opposing right-hander Jacob Barnes, he vigorously pushed an outside 90-mile cutter on the eighth pitch, but it rose in front of right field. Third baseman Xander Bogaerts could not rush home. However, with the bases loaded with one out, Merrill called in Bogaerts with a groundout to second base and ran away 4-0, sealing the game.

In defense, Kim Ha-sung showed off his skill in catching the frontrunner with a witty judgment. In the bottom of the seventh inning with a 3-0 lead, James Wood's grounder with one out and second base flowed to his right, and he caught it and threw it to third base without delay to put second baseman Juan Yepez out. San Diego's Adrian Morehorn then overcame the crisis.
