LG Twins reserve FA Choi Won-tae is ready to return in the second half of the year with his first real appearance since a side injury.

Choi Won-tae started the Futures League game against the Goyang Heroes in Goyang on the 4th and recorded three hits, four outs, and two strikeouts in three innings. The number of pitches was 42, and the maximum speed was 147km.

He took the mound for the first time in a month since taking the mound against the Kiwoom Heroes on June 5.

In the bottom of the first inning, Won Sung-joon, the leader, was grounded out in front of the second base, but allowed No. 2 Lim Byung-wook to double to the right and was in crisis. He struck out Lim Ji-yeol, but he got a right-handed hit by No. 4 Lee Myung-ki and got two outs and runners on the first and third bases. He caught No. 5 Lee Hyung-jong with a ground ball in front of the third base after a close game going from the full count to the eighth pitch.

The bottom of the second inning was also difficult. Shim Hwi-yoon, the first six, hit a double to the left, and started with a crisis of second base with no outs. He caught No. 7 Lee Seung-won with a shortstop line drive, handled No. 8 Byun Heon-seong with a fly to center field, and No. 9 Lee Jae-sang with a fly to second base to finish without losing a point.

In the bottom of the third inning, Won Sung-joon was a fly to left field, Joo Sung-won was a fly to left field, and Lim Ji-yeol was struck out swinging for the first time.

Choi Won-tae was 6-3 with a 3.80 ERA in 12 appearances this season, but suddenly left the starting lineup due to discomfort in his right side ahead of the match against Daegu Samsung on June 11, and has been treated and rehabilitated after being diagnosed with micro-damage to his right dorsal muscle.

For now, he is scheduled to take the mound in the second half. Coach Yeom Kyung-yeop is planning to take the mound as the fourth starter after Casey Kelly, Detrick Ens and Lim Chan-kyu in the second half. The away game against the Hanwha Eagles in Daejeon on the 12th is likely to be Choi Won-tae's return match.
