The Player of the Month Award, sponsored by K-League official video game partner Electronic Arts (EA), will be given to the player with the highest conversion score by adding up the results of the K-League fan vote (25%) and EA SPORTS™ FC Online (15%) user vote (15%) among the players selected as the best player (MOM), best 11, and best player (MVP) of the K-League 1 game held for a month.
Andersson (Suwon FC), Lee Sang-heon (Gangwon), Choi Ki-yoon (Kimcheon), and Han Seung-kyu (Seoul) were nominated for the June Player of the Month award for 16-20 rounds, and Suwon FC Andersson was honored with high support in the federation's TSG Technical Committee vote and FC online user vote.
Suwon FC Andersson scored two assists in the 16th round against Incheon (3-1 win) on June 1 and one assist in the 17th round against Gangwon (1-3 loss), and in the 20th round against Daejeon (2-0 win), he scored a Masugul goal to lead Suwon, ranked fifth in the league. Andersson's performance continued in July, leading the K League 1 assistance with a total of 10 assists, including the help against Daegu (2-2 draws) on the 14th.
Brazilian striker Andersson, who is wearing Suwon FC uniform this season, is the first foreign player to win the Player of the Month award this season, adapting to the K League 1 ground with explosive dribbling, speed, smart soccer intelligence and skill.
Suwon FC showed off the potential of 'Sharpball' by producing the winner of 'Player of the Month' for two consecutive months following Lee Seung-woo in May. Andersson will receive the prize along with the Player of the Month trophy.
