Doosan Bears coach Lee Seung-yeop played with No. 36 when he was active. While playing 1906 games for the Samsung Lions, he made his name as the best hitter in the KBO league by hitting a batting average of .2 and 467 home runs, and No. 36 became Samsung's permanent absence.
When he became the head coach of Doosan, Lee wore No. 77, but No. 36 still remains a symbol of Lee.
Doosan's No. 36 was a rookie. Im Jong Sung, who joined the third round (22nd overall) of the 2024 rookie draft. Coincidentally, he is from Gyeongbuk High School where head coach Lee played.
At the time of the nomination, a Doosan official expected Im Jong-sung to be a `player who can grow into a large third baseman.' He was evaluated as a mid- to long-range hitter with excellent hitting ability. Last year, when he was a senior in high school, Im Jong-sung hit .355 with two home runs in 31 games. The window hit rate reached 0.579.
Lim Jong-sung chose the best number because there was a number for the background of choosing #36"It was actually a burden, but as much as I got a good number, I'm running with the idea of becoming a better player." he said.
In this year's Futures League, he is batting .258 in 47 games. The recent slowdown in hitting has also shown a good batting sense, recording 313 percent in May. As a result, he was able to perform in the Futures All-Star Game.

Im Jong-sung smiled saying, `It's an honor to see the older brothers who are good at the game up close when they come to the Future All-Star game.'
