'Exciting powerhouse' Gangneung High School beat Bae Jin-jae and passed the first round of the blue dragon flag.

Gangneung High School won 9-3 in the first round match against Bae Jae-jae (co-hosted by the Chosun Ilbo, Sports Chosun, and the Korea Baseball Softball Association) at the 79th Cheongryonggi National High School Baseball Championship and the weekend league king match held at Mokdong Stadium in Seoul on the 4th.

While Lee Yul-ye, the main catcher with the strongest defense in high school, received the attention of scouts, Gangneung High School followed luck from the beginning and quickly scored points.

Gangneung High School's attack in the bottom of the first inning when it was 0-0. While Bae Jae-jin's starting pitcher Kim Min-joon was suffering from control difficulties, No. 1 hitter Lee Ji-hoo and No. 2 hitter Song Kwan-ho took consecutive walks. In the process of third batter Lee Yul-ye attempting a sacrifice bunt, the runners scored as the opponent's bad pitches overlapped, and soon after, Gangneung High School led 3-0 from the first inning as Lee Yul-ye came home from third base with a sacrifice fly from fourth batter Lee Yong-hyun.

A chance was also created at the end of the second inning. Following leadoff hitter Kim Min-sik's bunt hit, Lee Ji-hoo's sacrifice bunt and Song Kwan-ho's fly to left field created a chance to score. Gangneung High School, which added one more point when Lee Yul-ye hit an RBI timely hit, ran 4-0.

Baejae didn't just step back. He gave a chance with consecutive hits in the top of the third inning. After one out, Bae Jae-jae recovered two runs with consecutive hits by Kim Seo-kyung and Moon Ho-seok following Hong Woo-ju's hit and Yang Jung-woo's walk on base.

Leadoff hitter Lee Ji-hoo hit a double that flowed along the left-field line to open the water. Song Kwan-ho and Lee Yul-ye failed to add RBI as they ended up hitting consecutive mistakes, but Lee Yong-hyun's long shot, the fourth batter, exploded after two outs. Lee Yong-hyun added two more runs when he hit a two-run home run over the right fence to run 6-2, a four-run lead.

Gangneung High School, which gave up one point in the top of the seventh inning, widened the score gap again in the bottom of the seventh inning. Lee Ji-hoo's long shot broke out in the chance of first base with no outs. Lee Ji-hoo entered the third base as the opponent's outfielder's defensive errors overlapped, and the first baseman easily homered. Gangneung High School, which scored three runs in the seventh inning with Lee Yul-ye's sacrifice fly with the bases loaded, added Song Ji-hoon's hit and Kim Do-yoon's timely hit with the bases loaded, sealed the winning atmosphere early.

Meanwhile, Gangneung High School will play a match against Gyeonggi Aviation High School for a ticket to the round of 16 at Shinwol Stadium on the 7th.
