"Lee Yu-yeon X Kim Young-hyun, I believe in you!" Hwang Sun-woo's 800-meter relay preliminary round begins with his first ever medal-great challenge

The men's relay team consisting of Kim Woo-min, Hwang Sun-woo, Yang Jae-hoon (Gangwon Provincial Government), Lee Ho-joon (Jeju City Hall), Lee Yoo-yeon (Goyang City Hall), and Kim Young-hyun (Anyang City Hall) will play a preliminary match at 8:08 p.m. on the 30th (Korea time) at La Defense Swimming Pool in Paris. In Group 1 of the preliminary round, Lee Ho-joon, Lee Yoo-yeon, Kim Young-hyun and Kim Woo-min will play in turn. Hwang Sun-woo, who has a freestyle 100m qualifying match on the same day, will not compete in the relay qualifying round. The management team plans to entrust Lee Yoo-yeon and Kim Young-hyun with preliminary missions and put forward elite members of Hwang Sun-woo, Lee Ho-joon, Kim Woo-min and Yang Jae-hoon in the final round at 5:01 a.m. on the 31st.
South Korea, along with the United States, Japan, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Israel, were in Group 1 of the preliminary round. The second group of qualifiers consisted of eight countries: Lithuania, Brazil, Australia, the United Kingdom, China, Italy, Greece, and Canada. Eight of the 16 countries, or half of them, will make the final round.
Britain (6:58.65), the U.S. (7:01.24) and Australia (7:02.26), South Korea (7:02.47), and China (7:02.50) are widely expected to stage a close bronze three-way race. Of course, the Republic of Korea is looking higher. To do so, passing the preliminary round is the top priority.

Korea won its first Asian gold medal with a time of 7:01.94 in the men's 800m relay at the Doha World Championships in February, with a time of 0.1 seconds over China, and a time of 7:01.73 at the Hangzhou Asian Games last year. The Olympic team event is the dream and another level for all swimmers.
It is time for the golden generation, which has been growing in storm over the past three years, to prove the presence of Korean swimming on the world stage. South Korea is challenging its first medal history along with advancing to the final for the first time in Olympic history.
