As overseas golf demand grows day by day, airlines are also busy.

Korean Air will increase its round-trip flights to Kagoshima, Japan from 3 times a week to 5 times a week from September 2. Jeju Air will also launch three regular flights (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) to Kagoshima from September 14.

This move is not irrelevant to the recent demand for overseas golf in the Kyushu area.

Kyushu, located in the southern part of the Japanese archipelago, is characterized by a mild climate with an annual average temperature of 17-19 degrees. It has long gained popularity as a training site for domestic professional and amateur teams. After COVID-19, the word of mouth has spread that golf can be enjoyed at a reasonable price compared to Korea, leading to golfers' steps.

Satsuma Golf & Hot Spring Resort in Kagoshima, Japan, which was acquired by Show Golf in December last year, is also booming.

Satsuma Golf & Resort, which Shaw Golf acquired a 100% stake, brought in the domestic golf course operation system as well as the course environment. In particular, it is equipped with not only resort facilities for lodging but also hot springs and indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and the dispatch of staff for 24-hour interpretation services is attracting the attention of not only domestic golfers but also Japanese golfers. The founding account of the membership was sold out in two months, and the first account is also expected to close early.

An official from the golf industry said, `Since the acquisition of Show Golf, the number of visitors to Satsuma Golf & Resort has increased by 150% year-on-year. The Kagoshima region's golf community is also closely watching this growth, visits by Korean golfers, and movements to increase flights."
