The "2024 GROUND. NK League U18&17 Championship" hosted by the Korea Professional Football Federation will open on the 13th. The tournament schedule is 13 days from the 13th to the 25th, and all games will be held in Cheonan. The U18 Championship, in which 25 teams will participate, will be divided into seven groups, will play the group stage, go through the round of 16 tournaments, and then determine the winner at 7 p.m. on the 25th at the main stadium of Cheonan Football Center.

24 K-League teams and J1 League invitation team Cerezo Osaka will participate in the U17 Championship, which is a lower-grade tournament, with a total of seven groups playing the group stage and then the quarterfinals, and the final will be held at 7 p.m. on the 24th at Cheonan Football Center's main stadium.

◇The prevailing trend is semi-professional! semi-professional athletes competing in the championship

In this season's K-League, semi-professional players such as Gangwon Yang Min-hyuk, who was converted from semi-professional to professional during the season, and Suwon Park Seung-soo, who scored the youngest score in K-League history, are notable.



A large number of semi-professional players will also participate in this championship. First of all, Han Seok-jin, the youngest semi-professional player in the club's history, won the K-League Junior Score for two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022, and last year, he showed his overwhelming ability to become the first K-League Junior Electrical League Score for the first time in high school. This season, Han Seok-jin is playing in the K4 League as a member of Jeonbuk B team, and as he scored his debut goal against Pyeongtaek Citizen in June, he is expected to play well in this tournament.

Pohang Hong Seong-min is the third and first goalkeeper semi-professional player in the club's history, and he is an advantage of his ability to defend quickly and build-up ability to use both feet. Hong Sung-min led the team to victory by allowing only two runs in seven games at the Baegungi competition in February this year, and is also a solid starting goalkeeper in the U17 national team.



Jeonnam Son Gun-ho is the club's first 'field player semi-professional player', and his main position is wing forward, but it is a multi-resource that can also be played by attacking midfielders. In particular, Son Geon-ho is the son of coach Son Baek-ki, a founding member of Jeollanam-do, and when he made his professional debut in April, he drew attention with his unique record of both father and son playing in Jeollanam-do.

In addition, it is also expected that Pohang Kim Myung-joon, who scored eight goals in the K-League Junior's early league this season, Suwon Kwak Sung-hoon, who is tall at 1m90 and has excellent physical fighting skills, Seongnam Yoo Min-joon, who has excellent one-on-one defense and foot skills, and Jeonbuk Seo Jung-hyuk and Jin Tae-ho, who have played in the K4 League, will play well.

◇ Attention the former top scorer of 'One Shot, One Kill'

Incheon Lee Jae-hwan became the top scorer in the final match against Anyang in the K-League Junior electric league, showing explosive power to complete a hat trick in as many as six minutes. Lee Jae-hwan is characterized by a tall height of 1m90 and a sluggish physique, and his strengths include a physical fight with the opposing defender and sharp left foot shooting ability.

Suwon FC Baekkyung is characterized by a high RBI header using a tall height of 1m84, calmness at the gate, and excellent goal determination. Baek Kyung scored five goals in the final match against Gimpo in the previous league, scoring a total of eight goals, and also scored two consecutive goals in the following Korea Football Association presidential cup.

Pohang Chae In-seo became the top scorer with eight goals in the previous league. Chae In-seo showed steady performance not only in the electric league but also in the back-to-back season in February, ranking second (4 goals) in the team, and led the team to victory based on explosive speed and daredevil dribble breakthrough.

Gyeongnam Kim Soo-min is the younger brother of goalkeeper Kim Min-joon, who plays for the Gyeongnam professional team, and scored five goals in the Korea Football Association presidential cup and was named the top scorer of the tournament. In addition, Kim Min-joon also showed strength in linking with his teammates, including tying for second place (3 assists) in the electric league.

Kang Hyun-sung is the captain who led the Chungcheongnam-do Asan to the first K-League junior championship this season. Kang Hyun-sung was an offensive midfielder in the first league, ranking second in scoring and tied for third in assists. Kang Hyun-sung, whose strength is elaborate kick and dribble breakthrough, aims to record the most offensive points in this competition as well.

Seoul Samuel, who boasts fast speed and physicality, Daegu Kim Min-joon, who is tall and has competitive skills in the air ball, and Ulsan Kim Bum-hwan, who scored the most points in the team in Baegun-gi (four goals) and Bae Jang-bae (two goals), will participate in this competition to score multiple points.

In addition, fullback Lee Tae-kyung in Gwangju, who has a strong aggressive tendency, and Daejeon's goalkeeper Woo Kyu-jung, who has delicate foot skills and excellent agility, are also noteworthy at this tournament.
