Following the shuttle bus chaos at the Paris Olympic Village and the restaurant chaos, this time it is a bed chaos.

Swimswam, a swimming media outlet, released an SNS video posted by an Australian water polo player on the 28th (Korea time). Various players from different countries have raised concerns, saying they cannot get enough rest due to hard mattresses. This bed is a recycled cardboard frame bed that was already a problem at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago, but the problem is the mattress. This mattress is different from the Tokyo Olympics, and you can choose and use fluffy or hard cotton, but athletes complain that both sides of the mattress are too hard.

Australian water polo player Tilly Kearns says in TikTok video that one of his team members is about to "fall off" after sleeping on this mattress overnight," he said, expressing pain. As fans' concerns poured out, Kearns said "I've already received a massage and am recovering," and then posted a follow-up video that he ordered a mattress topper for bed on the same day.

Like Kearns, some athletes are throwing away all the mattresses provided by the Paris Olympic Organizing Committee and purchasing mattresses themselves. American gymnast Frederick Richards also brought Mattress directly to the athletes' village in a media interview. Everyone is complaining about everything else, including the bed" he raised his voice. "I've already ordered a bed and shipped it to the athletes' village. I'm glad I prepared a comfortable bed from the beginning." Richards said "I'm the only one who brought the mattress directly from the U.S. gymnastics team, but the U.S. Gymnastics Association gave all the athletes the option to choose the mattress topper."

Richards said "You know, we're in the Olympics right now. We are participating in the biggest event of our lives. I want to live like a king here. That's my basic mindset, so I brought a nice, comfortable bed," he said emphatically.

Swedish swimming superstar Sarah Söstrom also said she brought her mattress to the athletes' village. In an interview with Swedish media, she clarified her thoughts on the bed, which is most important for players' recovery. "I'm glad I could get help buying a mattress and bringing it with me."
