There was an unprecedented situation in Copa America in which players and spectators were scuffling.

Some Uruguayan players, including Darwin Núñez (Liverpool), stormed into the stands and punched fans wearing Colombian jerseys after a 0-1 loss to Colombia in the semifinals of the '2024 Copa America' at Bank of America Stadium in North Carolina on the 11th (Korea time).

Núñez literally engaged in hand-to-hand combat with the audience. It was not just a physical fight of pushing and pulling, but an assault of exchanging fists.

It has been alleged that people who appeared to be Colombian fans were drunk and attacked the families of the Uruguayan team.

Fabian Renkel, an American reporter for 90min, a soccer media outlet, reported real-time breaking news on social media.

Renkel said in a broadcast interview that Jose Maria Jimenez of Uruguay said the players' families were assaulted by Colombian fans. He appealed to the organizers for a change. He stressed that it was a matter of the safety of Uruguay's players' families.

According to Rennkel, Jimenez "This is a disaster. My family is in danger. There are no police."

Renkel added 'Hymenez said the fans who bullied Uruguay's national team family seemed to be drunk'

Violence cannot be justified for any reason, but if drunk people attacked their families first, the story would be different.

British media Daily Mail reported that `Nuñez jumped into the stands and punched the fans. It's a shocking moment. Copa America is in turmoil. Uruguay finished the tournament looking extremely ugly after losing in the semi-finals.

The Daily Mail said `After a frustrating night in front of the goal, Liverpool striker Núñez punched. I was stopped by security while expressing my anger at Colombian supporters. Supporters screamed.

Yahoo Sports scuffled with fans after Uruguay's players, including Núñez, lost to Colombia. Bank of America Stadium has turned into a chaos. Núñez was seen punching in the middle. It appears to have led the fight,' he explained.
