Kim Min-woo won the Cha Bum-keun Football Award when he was in elementary school and is a top prospect who has been attracting attention since his youth, including winning the title and scoring title at the "2019 Seoul Metropolitan Association Presidential Cup", winning the Most Valuable Player Award, and winning the "2022 Geumgang Daegi" Outstanding Player Award. After going through Boyn Middle School and Northeast High School, he joined Werder Bremen in Germany through a tryout test in 2021 and entered the European stage at a young age. As a member of the Bremen reserve team, he consistently played for the German fourth division, Legionaliga, and scored nine goals and 11 assists in 61 games. In 2023, he moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf, where Legionali played in 28 games, scoring two goals and six assists.
Kim Min-woo, who has superior physical conditions of 1m87, is a left-footed player who can play offensive midfielders, central midfielders, and left fullbacks. Based on a wide field of view and accurate passes, he has excellent ability to create offensive opportunities in build-up situations and has accurate goal-determining skills. He is also good at physical fights and heading competitions and has sharp kick power, so his former team also played as a dedicated kicker in set-piece situations.
He formed a relationship with coach Hwang Sun-hong in the U-23 national team. In March, he won his first national flag as he was selected to the U-23 national team participating in the '2024 WAFF U-23 Championship'. Using this as a stepping stone, he was also selected for the team '2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup' and played as the only European team and scored the winning goal against Japan in the third round of the group stage.
Kim Min-woo "We are very happy to be part of Daejeon Hana Citizen. As I joined the team late, I will work hard in all aspects of training and life to melt into the team quickly. The current ranking does not match Daejeon. I will do my best to help the team in the given role so that I can go up to the position that Daejeon originally aims for"He expressed his bold determination.
Meanwhile, through the summer transfer market, Daejeon recruited defenders Kim Moon-hwan from the national team, strikers Chun Sung-hoon and Park Jung-in, and midfielder Martha, adding strength to both sides of the offense and defense. With the addition of Kim Min-woo, a multiplayer from Europe, he gained more strength toward a rebound in the second half of the year.
