Ryan Sessegnon (24), who was released by Tottenham, eventually returned to his former team, Fulham.

Fulham announced the re-entry of Sessegnon on the 27th (Korea time). Fulham is Sessegnon's 'hometown'. Sessegnon, a Fulham youth native, made his debut in the first division in the 2016-2017 season.

Recognized as a left full-back, he moved from Fulham to Tottenham in August 2019. The transfer fee was 25 million pounds (about 44.5 billion won). Expectations were high, but he played 57 games for Tottenham, scoring only three goals and four assists.

The last journey was painful. Sessegnon left with a left hamstring injury in the 2022-2023 season and underwent surgery in the preseason ahead of last season. He returned in the third round of the FA Cup against Burnley on 6 January this year. He played as a substitute in the second half and played for only seven minutes.

But it was not the end of the pain. He played 37 minutes in the Under-21 team's game on January 17 ahead of his English Premier League (EPL) appearance. But the hamstring injury came again.

This time, it was on the right, not the left. It was expected to take 10-12 weeks to recover, and he was finally judged to be "out" for the season.

Sessegnon said on his SNS at the time that 'It's incredibly disastrous. 'Another setback came when I saw the light at the end of the tunnel and thought I was doing what I liked again.'

He continued 'I experienced surgery and recovery on the other side last year, and now I know how strong that hamstring is. 'I know this is the best solution to end a recurring problem' 'I've been down this road before. I will start recovering in the best way possible while raising myself, staying strong, he stressed.

But that was the end. Sessegnon's contract with Tottenham ended after last season. Tottenham can exercise the option of a one-year extension, but gave up and was released as an FA with no transfer fee.

As he left Tottenham, Sessegnon said on his SNS, "'I want to thank everyone involved in the Tottenham club.' I transferred at the age of 19 and met very special people who supported and led me in the process. From teammates to staff and coaches. 'Thank you' he bowed his head.

And 'I had lifelong memories and friends. From debut to scoring in the Champions League, I will always cherish these moments. Sessegnon finally 'Unfortunately, while here, things did not go the way I or the club wanted them to. The fact that I can't play more broke my heart. I wish you all the best in your future,' he added.

Crystal Palace have sought to recruit Sessegnon. But his choice was Fulham.
