"Chukhyup confirms appointment of head coach Hong Myung-bo → Coaching staff

KFA officially announced on the 13th that the Korea Football Association officially appointed national soccer team coach Hong Myung-bo through the approval of the board of directors, and Hong will start forming a coaching staff.
The KFA held a written resolution of the 4th board of directors in 2024 on the appointment of the men's national team coach for three days from the 10th to the 12th.
The case was approved by 21 out of 23 people in favor.
A written resolution shall be made on matters related to personnel affairs or on special matters requiring urgency when there are many days left until the next regular board meeting is held.
Coach Hong Myung-bo, who has officially begun his duties as the head coach of the national team, will begin to form the national team coaching staff.
The KFA explained that `especially for foreign coaches who will help identify and analyze the flow of world football, we plan to check candidates and conduct interviews in Europe.'
Earlier, the KFA announced on the 7th that it has appointed Ulsan HD coach Hong Myung-bo as the next coach of the national soccer team.
On the 8th, Lee Im-saeng, general director of the technical headquarters, briefed on the related contents.
Director Lee said, "First, we considered KFA's philosophy and game model. Coach Hong efficiently targeted the back space, using the build-up shown in Ulsan, using La Volpiana, taking the back three", he explained.
In addition, director Lee Im-saeng said Hong Myung-bo was better than two foreign candidates in various aspects, including resident issues in Korea, continuity from the national team by age, and comparison of performance in his team.
Coach Hong Myung-bo played his last game in Ulsan on the 10th.

Director Hong said "Chairman Lee Im-saeng came to the front of the house. He couldn't shake off the chairman who waited for two to three hours. That's when I met Chairman Lee for the first time."
It was the technical philosophy that shook Hong's heart. Even a good system could vary depending on who executes it, and coach Hong had the will to do it.
He said "Chairman Lee told me 'MIK(Made in Korea)' technical philosophy. Of course, I was fully aware of the content when I announced MIK. On the other hand, I was very interested in the job while I was in administration. However, there is a limit to administration. The most important thing is execution. It's important for the person in the field to do it. I think the coach of the A team is the one who should do it"He confessed.
I pondered for a long time. I stayed up all night. Coach Hong said, `As a result, something inside me started to come out. I thought this could be the last challenge in my football life. Considering the process of failing in the past and what happened afterwards, it is a terrible thing, but it is also true that I have a strong desire to try again. I really wanted to make a new team and make a really strong team and try it", he confessed.
Meanwhile, Ulsan said on the 11th that it mutually terminated its contract with coach Hong Myung-bo.
Coach Hong Myung-bo returned as the national team's head coach for the first time in 10 years since 2014. The contract period is until the Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia in January 2027.
