'Space Performer'Thomas Müller (35, Bayern Munich) took off his national team uniform.

Müller officially announced on YouTube on the 15th (Korea time) that he would retire from the German national team.

Müller said, "14 years ago, when I first got the chance to play in an A-match, I never dreamed this would happen. After 131 A matches and 45 goals, I say goodbye to the German national team today" he said.

Müller, who experienced a big win and bitter loss for the national team, said "Sometimes I was in despair, but I got back on my feet. I shared my time with my fantastic teammates who competed with the best players in the world and shared many unforgettable moments. I was always proud to represent my country. I want to thank everyone. Now I'm going to be a fan of Germany in the stands. Bye now!," he said goodbye.

Müller joined the chariot squad in 2010 and played 131 A matches, scoring 45 goals and 41 assists. After Lothar Mateus (150 games) and Miroslav Klose (137 games), he ranked third in the German national team's most appearances.

Müller, who was the top scorer at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, enjoyed the peak of his soccer career by lifting the trophy at the World Cup in Brazil four years later. It was praised for its outstanding space creation ability and scoring ability.

He had hinted at retirement during the Euro 2024 finals.

Müller, a Munich one-club man, is expected to play with Kim Min-jae in the 2024-2025 season.
