ESPN, a U.S. sports media outlet, selected 25 athletes who have performed the best in the Olympics since 2000 on the 25th (Korea time).
Phelps was the undisputed No. Winning six gold medals in swimming at the 2004 Athens Olympics, he won 23 medals in the Olympics alone. This is the highest individual record for both the East and Summer Olympics.
Simone Biles of the U.S. won second place. Biles, a four-time Olympic gold medalist in Rio de Janeiro 2016, is the best gymnast to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will open on the 27th.
In third place is Usain Bolt, who appeared like a comet at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Bolt, the fastest man in the world, won eight Olympic gold medals in the men's 100m, including three consecutive victories in Beijing in 2008, London in 2012, and Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Katie Rudecki (swimming) and Michaela Shiffrin (ski, USA) are in fourth and fifth place. In Asia, Kohei Uchimura (Japan, gymnastics) ranked the highest at 9th. Japanese figure skating star Yuzuru Hanyu (ice skating) came in 10th place.
