South Korean swimming star Hwang Sun-woo (Gangwon Provincial Office) stood in front of the long-awaited second Olympic stage. Hwang Sun-woo, who gained valuable experience at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which he participated in for the first time, will vigorously cut the current with the goal of winning his first medal in his life at the Paris Olympics.

Advancement to the semifinals is a priority over shortening the record, but a close match is expected in that 'preview final'.
Kim Woo-min immediately participates in the 200m preliminary round without resting and aims for two gold medals. Kim Woo-min will stand on the 6th lane of Group 2 and compete with Matthew Richards of the U.K. and others. In the 200m freestyle qualifying round, the top 16 players with good results will play in the semifinals on the 29th, and the eight who passed the semifinals will aim for a medal on the 30th.

Hwang set a new Korean record with a time of 1:44.42 at the Fukuoka World Championships last year. At the Hangzhou Asian Games, he set a new Korean record of 1:44.40 to win the gold medal. In February, he won the gold medal with a time of 1:44.75 at the Doha World Championships, maintaining a steady rise.
Among the athletes who participated in this preliminary round, this year's 200m freestyle record is in the order of Popovich (1:43.13), Lucas Martens (1:44:14), Matthew Richards (1:44:69) of the United Kingdom, Hwang Sun-woo and Duncan Scott (1:44:75). If he records his personal best, he deserves to win a medal.
Hwang Sun-woo said, `The 200m freestyle competition is so fierce that the eight players who made it to the final will be ranked by their fingertips. (But) I really want to climb the podium"I'm determined. Kim Woo-min's personal best is 1:45.68.
Kim Woo-min won the bronze medal with a time of 3:42.50 in the 400m freestyle, saying, `Sun-woo is my roommate, and I hope he will run the best race in good condition tomorrow, and if he wins a 200m freestyle medal, I want to take a medal photo with him like he did at the Doha World Championships.'
