Lee Jung-hyo's remarks "National team coach Hong Myung-bo should pay 100 million more per year than Clinsman "

Ahead of the 21st round of the 'Hana Bank K League 1 2024" between Gangwon and Gwangju at Gangneung Stadium on the 7th, I was able to hear a little bit from Gangwon coach Yoon Jung-hwan, one of the members of the power reinforcement committee.
Yoon is one of 11 members selected by former chairman Chung Hae-sung after former national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann was replaced. For the past five months, he has worked on his team's schedule and the appointment of a director. As a professional incumbent director, he is said to have voiced the field at the meeting.
Yoon's first reaction was 'Thank God ' Director Yoon said, "What would I have had a hard time? I'm glad to hear that I've been appointed as a coach."
KFA turned around and eventually reached out to coach Hong. Various foreign leaders, including Canadian coach Jesse Masi, have been on the Hamapyeong list, but they have repeatedly suffered from failure to meet the standards set by the association or difficulties in negotiations. Coach Hong could not ignore the association's proposal several times. On the 6th, he decided to accept the coach position in a surprise move.
The process was noisy. Last month, Chairman Chung abruptly resigned due to disagreements with the leaders of the association. Director Yoon, who watched the whole process closely, said, `It was a more difficult situation as Chairman Chung Hae-sung quit, but director Lee Im-saeng handled it well"It was easier (to appoint a director) because the candidate group was well (organized)."
Asked how he hopes to improve in the future as a power reinforcement committee, he cautiously said, `I think there will be more changes now that Hong has become the national team coach.'
Gwangju coach Lee Jung-hyo expressed his conviction on Hong's appointment as the head coach of the national team more quickly in his usual style. Director Lee said, `I think it went well. Coach Hong and Ulsan have made a big decision as well. The national team coach is the face and symbol representing a country. We need to give good treatment, better support, and better time. We need to pay 100 million more (annual salary) than coach Klinsmann" he said.
For reference, former coach Klinsmann's annual salary, announced by Qatar media Alcas during the Qatar Asian Cup, was $2.2 million (about 3 billion won).
