Ahead of the showdown, Seoul coach Kim Ki-dong said, `I think I'm definitely better than Robin in the first round. I didn't know either, but I don't think the players talked about the meeting. Recently, the players are talking to each other. I think it's a time when teams are changing. Talk about how to play soccer. It seems to be changing. I'm looking at it positively, too. I think it's going to be better." Daejeon manager Hwang Sun-hong said, `Is there a game that doesn't matter. Sangam is always difficult. I had to calculate by the best 11 and the second half. Tactical is important, but I only had two days. Rather than matching it to the opponent, he said, "I'm trying to correct what I felt bad about the Jeonbuk match."

In the end, Han Seung-gyu in Seoul and Kang Yoon-sung in Daejeon were unable to control their emotions. Both players received yellow cards.

Daejeon did not back down. Song Chang-seok was added instead of Kim Hyun-woo. Seoul also excluded Kang Sang-woo and Ryu Jae-moon and added Lee Tae-seok and Palosevic to counterattack. There was a fierce battle between Seoul, which tried to protect, and Daejeon, which tried to chase. Seoul laughed from the back. They cheered with a 2-1 victory.
