Gimcheon lost its subsequent home match against Suwon FC. He has been rocked by one draw and one loss in the last two games. Gimcheon was determined to win the match against Jeonbuk, where the '7th discharge ceremony' was scheduled. Ahead of the showdown, Kim Jeong-yong, manager of Gimcheon, said "We're a little tired. You can't lose two games in a row at home. You have to prepare well. Jeonbuk has also suffered a lot of injuries. It's a top class even if you look at the squad. There are some burdensome parts. I think it would be good for the players to play with confidence."

Against this backdrop, Jeonbuk remained in 11th place with four wins, eight draws and 10 losses (20 points) in the previous 20 games. However, he won the previous match against Jeju United and cut off '9 winless'. He made his first victory under coach Kim Doo-hyun. Moreover, it was Kim's birthday. Coach Kim said, `If you give a gift with a victory, there's nothing like that. I didn't say anything else. There was a game right after the victory, so I prepared it. Still, it's positive because it's a condition to make the atmosphere better."
