[Paris (France) = Egan Sports Chosun reporter] The world's strongest Korean archery team took its first step at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The South Korean archery team performed well in the Olympic ranking round held in Paris, France, on the 25th. Lim Si-yeon (Korea National Sports University) and Nam Soo-hyun (Suncheon City Hall) in the women's team, Kim Woo-jin (Cheongju City Hall) and Kim Je-deok (Yecheon County Office) in the men's team ranked first and second in the ranking round, respectively. Archery determines the individual and team seeds of the participants through the ranking round.

Women's national team ace Lim Si-hyun shot a total of 694 points (720 points), ranking first among 64 players. Ranking round 694 points is a new world record. The previous record was 692 points recorded by Kang Chae-young at the 2019 World Championships in the Netherlands. Shim also surpassed Ansan's Olympic record (680 points) at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Kim Je-deok also came in second with 682 points. He won two gold medals in the team and mixed events in Tokyo in 2020. Lee finished fifth overall with 681 points. The men's national team also took the top seed with a total of 2049 points for three players.

South Korea is aiming for at least three gold medals in this competition. At the 2020 Tokyo Games held in 2021, he won four gold medals, excluding the men's individual event.
