The Samsung Lions faced consecutive bad news ahead of the first- and second-place match against the KIA Tigers.
Samsung changed its entry ahead of the KIA match at Gwangju Kia Champions Field on the 18th. Park Byung-ho, the center hitter, was canceled and Kim Hyun-joon was registered.
Park Byung-ho, who seemed to recover from multi-hit against KIA the previous day, sprinted in the eighth inning I felt pain in my right hamstring. As a result of the examination, the damage was found, so I took a rest.
On top of that, there was even a change in the lineup just before the game. Samsung made batting order in the order of Kim Heon-gon, Lee Jae-hyun, Koo Ja-wook, Kang Min-ho, Lee Sung-kyu, Kim Young-woong, Ryu Ji-hyuk, Lee Byung-hun and Kim Ji-chan.
However, suddenly Koo Ja-wook was eliminated, and the lineup changed to Kim Heon-gon, Lee Jae-hyun, Kim Young-woong, Kang Min-ho, Lee Sung-kyu, Ryu Ji-hyuk, Lee Byung-hun, Kim Hyun-jun, and Kim Ji-chan.
"Before the game, Koo Ja-wook complained of discomfort on his right side," a Samsung official said" explained the reason for the change. "It's not that I can't play at all in the game, but I can play as a pinch hitter in the second half of the game," he explained.
Koo Ja-wook is Samsung's flagship player with a batting average of .319 home runs and 68 RBIs this season.
