Former world No. 1 and LPGA Rookie of the Year star player Ryu So-yeon will debut as a JTBC GOLF LPGA commentator.

Ryu So-yeon will make her first broadcast at the 2024 LPGA Dana Open, which will be held from the 19th. Ryu So-yeon, who finished her 16-year career in April, rose to fame as the world's top player with 10 KLPGA wins and six LPGA wins. He won the national title championship in five countries, including Korea, the United States, Japan, Canada, and China, and was nicknamed the "National title collector".

The Daena Open is a competition that has special meaning for Ryu So-yeon. In 2012, Ryu So-yeon swept nine birdies without a bogey on the final day and performed a thrilling 'Buddy Show' at the competition, which was then held under the name of Jamie Patoledo Classic. At that time, the final 20 under par had the lowest number of hits in the tournament. With this victory, Ryu So-yeon won the LPGA Rookie of the Year award in 2012 with her outstanding performance, ranking in the top 10 eight times in the remaining nine competitions of the season.

Commentator Ryu So-yeon, who took her first step as a commentator at the Dana Open with good memories, plans to deliver vivid information based on her rich experience in the competition. After the Dana Open, he will also play as a commentator in major LPGA tournaments this season, including the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, the BMW Ladies Championship, and Anika Driven by Gain Bridge.

The Dana Open, which started in 1984, is famous for Korean players' 'winning garden'. In addition to Pak Se-ri's five-time championship, many South Korean players, including Kim Mi-hyun, Lee Eun-jung, Choi Na-yeon, Kim In-kyung, and Kim Se-young, held the championship trophy in their arms. However, not a single player has made the top 10 in the past two years, 2022 and 2023 tournaments. This competition is a stage to restore the fame of 'The Garden'.

This year, Yoo Hae-ran, Choi Hye-jin, Ji Eun-hee, Lee Mi-hyang, Lee Jung-eun 6, Im Jin-hee, Jeon Ji-won, Kang Min-ji, Lee So-mi, Sung Yu-jin, Jang Hyo-joon, Lee Jung-eun 5, Kang Hye-ji, Joo Soo-bin, and Lee Il-hee will compete for the championship.
