Special Olympics Korea announced on the 12th that it participated in the 3rd Autism Expo held at the 2nd Exhibition Hall of the Yangjae aT Center in Seoul from the 12th to the 13th to promote sports with developmental disabilities and discover athletes.

The Autism Expo is Asia's first world-largest developmental disability fair held in Korea in 2019, providing integrated information and services on autism disorders and developmental delays through lectures, performances, and exhibitions. The 3rd Autism Expo will be held under the theme of 「Drawing Dreams, Drawing Together」, and more than 150 domestic and foreign organizations, organizations, and organizations related to developmental disabilities participated.

Special Olympics Korea participated in 'Autism Sports' as an auxiliary event at this fair to run a booth to experience the official Special Olympics event and hold a mini Special Olympics event to award medals to those who completed it. This event consisted of the complementary, floorball, and table tennis events 'Sports Experience Zone', which prints and presents commemorative photos along with medals, and the 'Promotion Hall', which hosts the event along with the exhibition of photos of Special Olympics Korea's event.

In addition, the Special Olympics Korea Athletes' Committee, which consists of athletes and artists with developmental disabilities, non-disabled youth partners and adult mentors, was also directly operated, drawing keen attention.

Special Olympics Korea Chairman Lee Yong-hoon "It is meaningful that through this Autism Expo, we will be able to introduce Special Olympics Korea to more people and inform them of cultural and artistic activities and participation in sports with developmental disabilities."Please pay a lot of attention to the national summer competition, which will involve 1,400 sports athletes with developmental disabilities in 15 sports in August."

Meanwhile, on August 16, the 17th Special Olympics Korea National Summer Competition', the largest comprehensive sports competition for the developmentally disabled in Korea, will open at Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon.
