Special Olympics Korea-Daegu FC Holds K-League Integrated Football Team Establishment Ceremony

The opening ceremony was held before the start of the match between Daegu and Daejeon in the 25th round of 'Hana Bank K League 1 2024' held at DGB Daegu Bank Park on the evening of the 27th.
SOK Chairman Lee Yong-hoon and Daegu Future Planning Director Park Jong-geun attended, and partner players and coaches of the Daegu Unified Football Team joined as representatives to announce their first steps.
'Integrated Football' is an activity in which a special Olympic athlete (developmentally disabled) and a partner athlete (non-disabled) train as a team and participate in the competition. Its purpose is to break down prejudice against each other through soccer and realize the value of social inclusion and equality for the developmentally disabled to realize an integrated society.
SOK and K League have signed a business agreement since 2021 to revitalize domestic integrated soccer and have been holding the "2024 Special Olympics Korea K League Unified Cup" for four years. In particular, in August, the 'Hana Bank Invitation K-League Special Olympics Korea Unified International Cup' will be held in Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, to invite overseas integrated soccer teams for international exchanges.
Daegu was founded in 2003 and is conducting social contribution activities to the local community through the social contribution brand called 「Together Sky」. In addition, the newly established Daegu FC Integrated Football Team will provide more opportunities for soccer players and partners with developmental disabilities in the community.
Special Olympics Korea Chairman Lee Yong-hoon expressed his gratitude to the Daegu FC team for participating in the integrated society by establishing the Daegu FC Integrated Football Team, saying, "I hope that soccer players with developmental disabilities in the Daegu area will be able to build a lasting relationship with each other."," he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman Lee Yong-hoon added that the opening ceremony of the Jeonnam Dragons Unified Football Team will be held on August 24 at Gwangyang Football Stadium, the home stadium.
