Game 2 of the Weekday Series between KT Wiz and SSG Landers was held at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on the 23rd.
On this day, SSG formed the starting lineup of Jihoon Choi (center fielder), Choo Shin-soo (designated hitter), Choi Jung (third base), Eredia (left wing), Han Yu-sum (right wing), Park Sung-han (striker), Ko Myung-joon (first baseman), Kim Min-sik (catcher), and Jung Joon-jae (second baseman). KT faced off with Rojas (right wing), Kim Sang-soo (second base), Moon Sang-cheol (first base), Jang Sung-woo (designated hitter), Kim Min-hyuk (left wing), Bae Jeong-dae (center fielder), Kang Hyun-woo (catcher), Hwang Jae-gyun (third base), and Shim Woo-joon (striker). The starter is Cuevas.
The pitching competition was as intense as the weight of the ace of both teams. KT scored the first run in the bottom of the second inning with Kim Min-hyuk's hit and Bae Jeong-dae's RBI double. However, Hwang Jae-gyun and Shim Woo-joon struck out one after another in the following chances with one out and third base, failing to score.
SSG successfully fought back in the top of the fourth. Choi Jung, who got on base with a hit after one out, went to third base due to a wild pitch and catcher error. Heredia's timely hit then resulted in a 1-1 tie.

Referee Moon Dong-kyun did not receive calls from the second to the fifth pitches. Fortunately, it was delivered normally to the receiver of Jung Jong-soo's third base center.
However, after Choi Jung walked to the base, another ABS error occurred in Herredia's at-bat with no outs and runners on the first and second bases.
The first ball was a swing and miss, and the controversy grew over the second ball at the ball count 0B1S. The game was suspended for a while as the call was not delivered to the referee again. Soon after, the judges say the ABS is 'non-traceable'. I will make the referee's own decision from the second ball (Eredia's)"I ruled the second ball a strike.
However, it was problematic that the ball was marked as 'ball' on ABS tablet PCs in both dugouts. SSG coach Lee Sung-yong rushed out and protested strongly. It is first and second base with no outs, and the batter is Eredia, and the difference between 0B2S and 1B1S is remarkably large.
The game was suspended again. KT manager Lee Kang-chul also did not stay put. There was a heated protest from both teams' benches.
The referee made an unprecedented turnaround in the strike-ball decision. According to ABS, the ball in question (two Herredia) was changed to a ball, and the referee decided to proceed with the game on his own judgment.
But another unexpected situation occurred. After a long hiatus, Cuevas' first pitch (Eredia's third pitch) fell out of her hands and was hit by Herredia's arm. Herredia showed emotional reaction, complaining of intense pain, while Cuevas immediately went down from the mound as soon as the ball hit her, expressing concern about Herredia's condition.
SSG trainers made icing and checked Herredia's condition to get on base. KT manager Lee Kang-chul ordered the replacement of the pitcher considering Cuevas' condition.

KT Sung Jae-heon induced SSG Han Yoo-seom and Park Sung-han with infield ground balls one after another and caught the out at home. With the bases loaded with two outs, KT's third pitcher Kim Min-soo handled even pinch hitter Lee Ji-young with a ground ball to the first base, and KT finished the crisis without losing a run.
SSG blocked Kim Kwang-hyun well with five hits and one run until the sixth inning. On the other hand, the aftermath of Cuevas' five hits and one run in five innings and replacement from 94 pitches arrived late. After one out in the top of the seventh inning, Jung Joon-jae got on base due to pitcher Kim Min-soo's error, and the next batter, Jihoon Choi, took a 2-1 lead with an RBI triple that divided the right-center.
