A spectacular run, it was enough to be a 'star'.

Kim Do-young was selected as the monthly MVP in June of the 2024 KBO League. Kim Do-young received a total of 34.54 points with 6 out of 30 votes (20.7%) and 245,598 out of 507,615 votes in fan voting, beating Kiwoom Kim Hye-sung, who ranked second with 13 votes for the press corps, 47,854 fan votes, and 27.13 points in total. Kim Do-young won the honor for the second time in the first half of the year since he was selected as the monthly MVP from March to April.

Kim Do-young, who achieved the KBO League's first monthly 10 home runs-10 steals in April, achieved his first 20 home runs-20 steals of the season and his 57th career in the first round of the Hanwha DH in Gwangju on June 23. He is the fifth player to achieve 20-20 in the first half after Park Jae-hong, Lee Byung-kyu and Thames.

Kim Do-young played in 24 games in June and recorded 32 hits, eight home runs (2nd) and 27 points (1st). He also contributed to KIA's lead by ranking second in the batting index with an OPS of 1.149 with a slugging percentage of 0.681 (3rd) and an on-base percentage of 0.468 (4th). He had hits in 19 of the 24 games he played in June and made multi-hits in 10 games, including three hits in three games.

His two monthly MVP wins in the same year came in about two years since Lee Jung-hoo, who won the monthly MVP in June and September 2022.

Kim Do-young, who was selected as MVP in June, will be given a trophy along with 2 million won in prize money, and 2 million won in donations will be delivered to Kim Do-young's alma mater, Gwangju Dongsung Middle School, under the name of the player with the support of Shinhan Bank.
